Be a Volunteer

Heart of Hospice will provide you with training so you will feel comfortable being a Heart-To-Heart volunteer. As a Heart-To-Heart volunteer you will have the information and support to help patients and families.

A few areas where volunteers are utilized at Heart of Hospice include providing emotional, spiritual and physical support to patients and families. This can include helping in the office, with the patient/family, or at Special Events. Some examples of volunteer services include:

• Visiting with patients

• Help patients write life story or family history

• Shop for personal items

• Household tasks

• Caregiver respite

• Specialized skills such as beautician/barber/manicurist

• Nursing Home or Care Center visits

• Transportation to physicians or deliver medications

• Special events – Health Fairs, Relay for Life, Community Events
