How to Donate

Please give to Heart of Hospice Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the Heart of Hospice philosophy of Heart-to-Heart care by providing emotional and financial support to Hospice patients and families in need.

Heart of Hospice Foundation is governed by a board that approves dispersal of funds upon written application from Hospice staff.

Funding for Heart of Hospice Foundation comes from memorial gifts and donations from individual and community sources.

Donations are used for providing celebrations of life, to include birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. They also provide assistance to patients and families for whom other resources are limited, such as paying a utility bill, allowing a child to come for a last visit, or granting a patient’s last wishes. Donations go directly to patients and families and Heart-To-Heart experiences

Donations are an important resource enabling Heart of Hospice Foundation to provide the highest quality of support to our patients and their loved ones. Donations may be made for many reasons or for no reason at all. All donations to Heart of Hospice Foundation are acknowledged with a letter to the donor.

Donations take the form of:

• General Donations given to Heart of Hospice Foundation for no reason other than someone has heard about and/or observed the work that we do in the community to help patients and families in their time of need. The donation is made to ensure that Heart of Hospice Foundation remains a viable resource to the communities we serve.

• Memorial Gifts honoring the memory of someone who has touched your life. Families often specify “memorials to Heart of Hospice Foundation in lieu of flowers.” Heart of Hospice Foundation is frequently the recipient of memorial gifts honoring loved ones who were never in our program. A list of donors is sent to the family of the person being remembered at the end of each month.

• Honorariums expressing love and respect for a living family member, friend or Heart of Hospice employee. This gift is a thoughtful way to observe a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or for a special recognition.

Heart of Hospice Foundation has applied as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your gift may be tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the limits allowed by federal law. We will send you a gift acknowledgement to use as your receipt. Heart of Hospice and Heart of Hospice Foundation do not practice tax or legal consultation and urge you to obtain assistance from your own professional legal or tax advisor as to the deductibility of your gift.
